Pruning to improve airflow and reduce the crown of a Schinus molle (Pepper tree)
We recently performed a specialized pruning on a Schinus molle (False Pepper Tree) located in a sensitive surrounding area, bordered by a wooden deck and a sidewalk.
The main goal was to balance the tree’s growth with the safety of the surrounding area. Using corrective pruning techniques, we were able to improve air circulation within the canopy, reduce the tree’s structural weight, and ensure that the tree continues to grow healthily without compromising the surrounding infrastructure.
What was done
Thinning Pruning: Strategic removal of dry, crossing, or diseased branches from within the canopy to increase light penetration and air circulation, thereby preventing pests.
Canopy Reduction: Controlled reduction of the tree’s volume and height to decrease wind resistance and excessive weight on the main branches.
Area Protection: All work is performed using safe cutting techniques and suspension equipment (if necessary) to prevent any damage to the wooden deck and the cobblestone walkway.
Final Cleanup: Collection, shredding, and removal of all plant debris, leaving the customer’s property spotless.
